Professor, Indiana University Dr. Christopher Craft is the Janet Duey professor of Rural Land Policy in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington, where he directs the PhD program in Environmental Science and teaches courses in Wetlands Ecology, Restoration Ecology, Applied Ecology and Environmental Science. Professor Craft has 30+ years of experience working in freshwater and coastal wetlands. Education Ph.D., Soil Science, North Carolina State University, 1987 M.S., Ecology, University of Tennessee, 1983 B.A., Biology, University of North Carolina-Asheville, 1980 Research Research Interests: Research interests include wetland restoration, nutrient enrichment & eutrophication, carbon sequstration, and effects of climate change. His research projects span the eastern, Midwest and western U.S., Europe and China. Dr. Craft is a founding member (since 200) of the National Science Foundation Georgia Coastal Ecosystems Long-Term Ecological Research (GCE- LTER) program and serves on the executive committee. Froom 2008- 2009, he served as the president of of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS), an international organization that promotes sound wetland science, education and management. In 2012, Professor Craft received the National Wetlands Award for Science Research sponsored by the Environmental Law Institute, Washington D.C. He is the author of two books, Creating and Restoring Wetlands: From Theory to Practice (Elsevier, 2016) and Wetland Soils: Genesis, Hydrology, Landscapes and Classification (co- edited with Michael Vepraskas; CRC Press, 2016).
