Image: Thomas Dornhoffer successfully defended his PhD dissertation on Nov 5. The goal of his work was to investigate the impacts of benthic fauna across multiple scales, with particular emphasis on the importance of benthic fauna for solute fluxes across the sediment-water interface, and for nitrogen removal at the interface between the terrestrial and marine environments.
