Microbial activity in the Amazon River Plume

Brandon Satinsky, a PhD student working with Dr. Mary Ann Moran recently published a paper in PNAS titled "Microspatial gene expression patterns in the Amazon River Plume".  The study reveals the complex microbial activity in the Amazon River Plume as part of a broad project to understand the global carbon budget and its possible impacts in a changing ocean.  See the UGA Today for more details.
