Altamaha River plume off the Georgia Coast

Image:

Sixteen scientists took part in a Georgia Coastal Ecosystem LTER cruise aboard the R/V Savannah during late July, directed by chief scientist Dr. Daniela Di Iorio. The primary goal of the effort was to sample for nutrients and carbon constituents and measure the spatial extent of the Altamaha River plume in the coastal ocean, part of an ongoing seasonal study of water movement in the South Atlantic Bight.
