Research Professional II

Staff responsibilities:

I work in the Di Iorio group of Physical and Acoustical Oceanography. My tasks are mixed between data analysis and field work related to physical oceanography where I play a major role in the daily instrument and laboratory operations.

I plan, design, participate and lead field operations that consist of deploying and installing oceanographic sensors such as CTD’s, ADCP’s, HADCP’s, and our Acoustic Scintillation Flow Meter.

Depending upon instrument type, these instruments are moored, platform or bottom mounted. Periodic and hidden signals in the observed data are analyzed using Matlab for their scientific publication.

Our group deals with a wide range of physical oceaographic data, this includes modeling, various observed met and ocean data, and acoustic instruments that use both forward and back scatter methods.
